Our approach
Systematic by design.
VaultFX strategies are sets of fixed, tested rules that run without discretionary intervention. This page explains the principles behind them. It does not disclose proprietary entry rules, parameters or settings.
Building blocks
What every VaultFX strategy has in common.
Rules-based execution
Entries, exits and position sizes are defined in advance and executed automatically. The same conditions always lead to the same decision.
Liquid markets
We focus on major, highly traded currency pairs, where spreads are typically tighter and prices more continuous.
Multi-timeframe context
Signals on a shorter timeframe are filtered by conditions on higher timeframes, to avoid trading against the broader structure.
Per-trade risk control
Every position is opened with a protective stop and sized relative to account equity, so a single trade cannot dominate the outcome.
Event awareness
High-impact economic releases can cause sudden spikes and wider spreads. Strategies can reduce or avoid exposure around them.
Monitored continuously
Automated does not mean unattended. Live behaviour is reviewed against expectations, and changes are tested before deployment.
Development process
From idea to live account.
A strategy has to pass several stages before it trades real money. Most ideas do not make it through.
Research
A hypothesis about market behaviour is defined and tested on historical data, including trading costs.
Robustness
Results are checked out-of-sample and across different market regimes, to reduce the risk of overfitting.
Live validation
The strategy runs on a live account with real execution, so that slippage and costs are visible in the record.
What we share
- The live account and full trade history, via Vantage and Myfxbook.
- The general approach and risk principles described on this page.
- Material changes in how a public strategy is run.
What we keep private
- Exact entry and exit rules, indicators and parameters.
- Stop-loss and take-profit configurations and set files.
- Anything that would allow the strategy to be copied outside the platform.
Backtests are not results. Historical simulations can be optimised to look better than reality. VaultFX refers to live, independently tracked accounts when discussing performance. Even live results do not predict the future.
See the strategy in action.
The live account is the most honest description of a strategy. Review it, including its drawdowns, before you consider copying.
