Risk disclosure.

Please read this page carefully before you trade, copy a strategy or use any trading software. Last updated: 8 November 2026.

Trading foreign exchange and CFDs on margin carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. You can lose some or all of the capital you invest. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

1. Leverage and margin

Forex and CFD positions are typically traded with leverage. A small price movement can lead to a proportionally much larger gain or loss on your capital. If your account equity falls below the broker's margin requirements, positions may be closed automatically at a loss. Depending on your broker and jurisdiction, losses may in some cases exceed your deposit.

2. Market risk

Currency prices are affected by interest rates, economic data, political events, central-bank decisions and market sentiment. Prices can move rapidly and gap, especially around news releases and at market open. Stop-loss orders limit risk but do not guarantee execution at the specified price.

3. Copy-trading risk

  • Your results will differ from those of the strategy account because of allocation size, lot-size rounding, timing, execution, spreads, swaps and fees.
  • A strategy can experience substantial drawdowns and extended losing periods, and can stop performing altogether.
  • The copy-trading service is provided and controlled by the broker. VaultFX has no control over the broker's platform, pricing, execution, availability or terms.
  • Stopping or changing your copy settings during a drawdown can lock in losses.

4. Automated trading risk

Automated systems, including Expert Advisors, follow programmed rules and cannot adapt to every market condition. They depend on software, internet connectivity, trading platforms and servers, any of which can fail. Historical backtests are simulations and do not reflect real trading costs, slippage or the psychological pressure of live trading.

5. Past performance

Past performance, whether actual or simulated, is not a reliable indicator of future results. Any performance data available through third-party platforms relates to specific accounts and periods and should not be relied upon to predict future returns.

6. No investment advice

7. Regulatory status

VaultFX is not authorised or supervised by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) or any other financial regulator. VaultFX does not accept or hold client funds. Your trading account is held with a third-party broker, whose regulatory status and protections depend on the entity with which you open your account. Copy trading and CFD trading may be restricted or prohibited in some jurisdictions; it is your responsibility to comply with the laws that apply to you.

8. Affiliate relationships

Some links on this website, including links to Vantage, are affiliate or referral links. VaultFX may receive compensation from the broker when you open an account or trade through such a link, and may receive fees from the broker's copy-trading programme. This compensation does not increase the prices you pay, but it does mean VaultFX has a commercial interest in you using the broker.
